The NT301 obd2 scanner enables you to read DTCs, locate bad O2 sensors, access to emissions readiness status, turn off CEL(check engine light) or MIL, reset monitor, read live data and retrieve VIN of your vehicle.
Vehicle Compatibility
About the read code funtion needs to be in the ignition on state and if the check engine light is on. If the vehicle is compatible with NT301, please select correct menu & ensure no hardware/wiring issues/obd2 interface damage for accurate results. The correct menu: Select OBDII-> Wait for seconds-> Select Read codes.

Compatible with most 1996+ gasoline cars, light trucks, and SUVs sold in the U.S., as well as many 2000+ European and Asian models. Also works on 12V diesel vehicles equipped with OBD2. It's a basic code reader and DOESN'T't support to scan ABS, SRS, EPB, A/C systems etc, . It also DOESN'T support ANY special functions like TMS reset/SRS Reset/ABS bleeding/automatic driving/tpms relearn/bluetooth related.
The NT301 supports OBDII protocols like KWP2000, J1850 VPW, ISO9141, J1850 PWM and CAN. The device is compatible with 1996 US-based, 2000 EU-based and Asian cars, light trucks, SUVs. It feels well built and response is quick enough. It helped me diagnose and repair a check engine light for a evap purge solenoid on a 2010 Chevy Colorado LT 3.7L.

It’s not just a code reader but a system reader. It leaves out many available features but it’s also not the high end model. The information provided is basic. It’s still helpful but it’s ability is also reflected in the lower price. If it helps I liked it enough to order a foxwell i70 pro to accompany this one. I hope they stick around for a while because they will give tool truck companies a run for its money. I cannot comment on the tech support because I have not used it yet.

You can buy cheaper but you can also buy a lot more expensive. This fit the need that I had and was easy to use. Especially liked the I/M button that tells you if you are ready for inspection. I ordered the package that came with the case, I highly recommend the case.
