The FOXWELL NT301 is a step up from basic code readers, adding live data graphs, battery voltage tests, and a durable case for home mechanics.
Whether you are troubleshooting a check engine light, preparing for an emissions test, or performing scheduled maintenance, the NT301 Plus gives you the module access and service functions you need without booking a dealer appointment. On-screen menus walk you through each step, and stored scan reports help you track repairs over time.
The NT301 Plus helps you identify root causes faster by reading fault codes, live sensor values, and module status across the systems it supports:
Plug the NT301 Plus into your vehicle's 16-pin OBD2 port (usually under the dashboard). Turn the ignition to ON — the tool powers from the vehicle and guides you through reading codes in seconds. Use the built-in DTC library to understand each fault, then clear codes after repairs and re-scan to confirm the fix.
1996+ OBD2 gasoline and light-duty vehicles with a 16-pin DLC. Covers engine and emissions systems only — not ABS, airbag, or bidirectional active tests.
Always verify that your exact year, make, model, and engine combination is supported before purchase — especially for service resets, bi-directional tests, and brand-specific modules. OBD2 port location is typically under the driver-side dashboard on U.S. vehicles from 1996 onward.
Home mechanics and DIYers who want more than a basic code reader without paying for full-system coverage.
If you regularly work on your own vehicles, run a small repair shop, or buy used cars to flip, the NT301 Plus pays for itself quickly compared to per-visit dealer diagnostics.
For everyday check-engine diagnostics, FOXWELL code readers deliver dealer-level code definitions and live data without a monthly fee. They are easier to use than phone apps, work offline in any garage, and pay for themselves after a single avoided dealer diagnostic visit.
USB OBD2 connection. Free updates through FOXWELL PC software. Keep firmware current to maintain the widest vehicle coverage and access to newly added service functions.

First the POSITIVES: For the NT301 Plus itself, I give the product 5 stars for its price point (separate listing $69.99) given all of it's functionality and ease of performing the update. I've spent many hours comparing available OBD2 testers and I have not come across anything that compares at this price point for the NT301 Plus... $69.99 A little critique that doesn't diminish the 5 stars I would give to a $69.99 NT301 Pro currently listed 7/23 is that the orange plastic case is somewhat thin but the black protector will protect it even if you drop it. What is irritating is the buttons. They are made of a rubber material and they bind up against the orange plastic when pushed. Again, this does not reduce the 5 stars for the NT301 Plus itself. The BAD: What I have against this listing is that it makes you think you are saving money when you get this 'bundle'. The NT301 Pro is $69.99 (separate listing 7/23) The NT301 case is $15.99 (separate listing 7/23) for a total of $85.98 This listing is $79.99 (7/23) for a savings of $5.99 OK, that's a
