Lots of features, worked out of the box before updates, auto scanned & identified my vehicle quickly! We own several BMW's , so having a BMW specific scan tool to give detailed info specifically for BMW codes was important for quick and accurate diagnosis instead of purchasing a generic "all makes" OBD II scanner. I love BMW's & currently own an E46 M3, E92 M3 & an F82 M4 and will probably own many others in the future. When I first got the E46 M3, I had the BMW specific Peake Research R5FCX3-16 which worked well for that generation of vehicle, but Peake seemed to have died off/stopped making products to support 2008+ models so I looked at other options incl BT tool, Schaben/Foxwell NT510, Carly, Carista, and a couple others which required connecting to a laptop. Based on reviews from various bmw forums (M3forum, bimmerforums, M3post, E90post, obdadvisor, etc) I narrowed down my choices. I use Apple/Mac & didn't want to be tied to a computer to diagnose any issues with my vehicle plus many were only for PC/Windows computers. I wasn't sure abou

I got the Foxwell NT510 specifically for my Mini, whose battery needed a change. I was unwilling to pay $550 to a BMW dealer service department for something so simple, however the only aspect of the battery change I wasn't capable of doing on my own was the new battery registration (which is a MUST, do NOT skip doing this). After searching for tools capable of registering a new battery, I found the Foxwell NT510. I'm familiar with a variety of OBD II scanners and diagnostic tools, and that's essentially what the NT510 is. You can perform a code scan like you do with any OBD II scanner, but more than that, this scanner and the software that accompanies it can arm you with the ability to diagnose specific manufacturer codes that other scanners can't do. For my purposes, the process of registering my battery using the NT510 was unbelievably easy. I found the correct menu and my battery was registered in under a minute. After doing another diagnostic test, my ECM was functionin

Automatically detects car model and scans all the modules for trouble codes. Allows controlling service interval resets and manually triggering many components (individual lights, windows, brake caliper opening). This reads the BMW codes which are way beyond standard OBD-II codes. Taking one star off because while it claims to allow recoding for new batteries, it actually only allows resetting the install date. You still have to take it to a shop to get the battery recoded, which adjusts the charge profile and extends the battery life expectancy. Aside from that it allows much control of the BMW computer system. I even used it to override the power window control and roll them up when my footwell module (FRM3) fried (the footwell module normally reads the window buttons and controls the windows). That and the ability to read BMW and OBD-II codes makes this a great tool. Of course it cannot compare to the $1000 shop systems in all the advanced cases.

In simple terms it fulfilled my needs for my BMW, thus I subsequently purchase the GM module. Where things went bad... I was recently troubleshooting an actuator issue on my Cadillac Escalade (GM software module). During my process of working on the car, the scanner started to intermittently work, and ultimately stopped working altogether. It became completely unresponsive. No matter what I plugged it into it there was nothing. I even plugged it back into my computer to see if there was something I could do. Still nothing... I have a registered account with foxwelltech where this product is registered. This were my purchase history resides (additional software modules) and this device is tied to my account. It seems that foxwell has transitioned their support site to foxwelltech.us. However, it does not appear they transferred registration and account information from the legacy site. When I try to manually register my product to foxwelltech.us it does not allow the serial number. What I have d

I bought this scanner because my wife's X3 was throwing an intermittent check engine light and I wanted something that did more functions than the app I was using on my phone for pulling codes. This one caught my attention because it also does battery registration and SRS (airbags/seatbelt) lights too (I removed a seat my my daughter's 328i to replace the under seat speaker and it triggered the airbag light because I forgot to disconnect the battery before I unhooked the wiring harness). It also does ABS codes and a bunch of other stuff for a really reasonable price. I found that this scanner gives much more detail than the Torque Pro app that I was using because it has BMW specific codes. The detailed codes were helpful in diagnosing the X3 check engine light and pinning it down as a wastegate actuator calibration issue. My app could only pull the P1290 code, but didn't give nearly as much detail as this scanner. I also want to compliment Foxwell customer support very highly. I emailed them a question about something and received a very thorough, friendly

Immediately cleared all my codes in my 2016 BMW 550i, saved me a trip to the dealership. Best out of the box experience, saved me a ton of money from going to the dealership/bmw mechanic. Extremely easy to use. The only improvement I would make on it is having the buttons glow in the dark.
